Ms. Ashali Solomon

Head of Faculty

Greetings to all Delegates and Faculty Members.

I am thrilled and privileged to inform you that The Lawrence School, Sanawar will host the seventh edition of the SNAMUN in August 2024. It will be a great privilege to host numerous bright and talented young individuals on the serene hilltop of Sanawar. At Sanawar, we view MUN as a platform that fosters students’ development of communication, collaboration, and various essential skills needed for future leadership roles. These events promote informed decision-making, practical problem-solving and instil values such as empathy, integrity and fairness, as students address global issues peacefully. In today’s uncertain world, marked by instability in geopolitics, global institutions, environmental concerns like climate change and the global economic situation, MUN offer a crucial learning space, by providing a diverse range of committee topics and agendas. We empower students to select areas they are passionate about and can learn from their experiences. Given the current global challenges, there is a pressing need for unity and cooperation to address these issues collectively.

MUN serve as a timely reminder for people to set aside differences and work together to tackle the complex problems facing humanity. Our theme this year is 'Quo Vadimus?' which means 'Where are we going?'.Through our conference, we aim to answer this exact question in the global context.

SNAMUN'24 aims to instil these values in the participating delegates. Engaging in Model United Nations may be theoretical, but its results often yield practical solutions. MUNs provide a platform for fresh perspectives and innovative problem-solving. In the words of India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, “Daring to take risks is crucial for achieving one’s aspirations.” We look forward to welcoming your energetic young team to our conference.

Warm regards,

Ms. Ashali Solomon

Head of Faculty (Humanities).
